A Real Terrier Grooming Transformation — At Home

Not every groom needs a fancy style — sometimes the best result is simply a scruffy, overgrown coat brought back to clean, comfortable and tidy. This little terrier is exactly that, and the whole thing happened at home, on a familiar floor, with no cage and no sedation.
The situation
When our groomer arrived, this terrier's coat had grown long and shaggy — a heavy beard and eyebrows hanging over the eyes, and a rough, uneven body coat that had started to knot. Wiry, terrier-type coats trap dust and tangle easily, and once the hair falls across the eyes it stops the dog seeing clearly and catches every bit of food and dirt.
What the session included
Everything was done calmly at home. The groomer brushed and worked through the tangles, then gave a warm bath with a pH-balanced, skin-safe shampoo and a full blow-dry. The coat was clipped and scissored down to a neat, even length, the face and beard were tidied so the eyes were clear again, and the session finished with nail clipping, ear cleaning and a paw and sanitary trim — the full styling routine we'd usually book as our Full Service package (₹1,499).
Why at-home suits dogs like this
For a dog that finds a busy salon stressful, having the groomer come to the house changes everything — no car ride, no waiting in a cage, no unfamiliar smells and sounds. The dog stays on its own floor, in its own space, so the whole groom stays low-stress from start to finish.
The result
A clean, short, comfortable coat, a tidy face with bright, visible eyes, and one smart-looking terrier back in its collar. For how often a coat like this needs attention, see our grooming frequency guide.
