A Freshly Groomed Maltese, at Home

Few breeds show off a good groom like a Maltese. This little one is pictured fresh from a full at-home session — bathed, blow-dried and tidied into that signature bright-white, cloud-soft finish, all without a cage and without sedation.

The Maltese coat

A Maltese has a single, silky, almost human-hair-like coat with no undercoat — beautiful, but genuinely high-maintenance. It grows continuously, picks up tear-staining around the eyes and muzzle, and knots quickly behind the ears, under the legs and around the sanitary area if it isn't brushed often. Keeping it clean and bright-white is as much about routine as it is about the groom itself.

What a full Maltese groom includes

This finish came from the full works: a gentle de-tangle, a warm bath with a pH-balanced, brightening, skin-safe shampoo and conditioner, and a thorough blow-dry and brush-out to get that soft, standing coat. The groomer cleaned the tear-stain area around the eyes, tidied the face and coat, and finished with nails, ears and a paw and sanitary trim — our Full Service routine (₹1,499).

Keeping that white coat white

Between grooms, brushing every day or two stops the fine coat from matting, and gently wiping the eye area helps keep tear-staining down. A full groom every 3–4 weeks keeps a Maltese comfortable and looking its best.

Small, people-focused dogs like the Maltese are usually far calmer groomed in their own space than in a busy salon — no car ride, no cage, no waiting. The groomer comes to them, and the whole session stays relaxed from bath to blow-dry.
