A Shih Tzu Puppy's First Teddy-Bear Cut, at Home

Early grooming is less about the haircut and more about the habit — a calm, positive first experience that makes every future session easy. This young Shih Tzu's first proper teddy-bear cut was done at home, gently and unhurried.

A fluffy little handful

This little one came to the session as a young Shih Tzu with a soft, overgrown coat — the kind of face-fuzz that looks adorable but quickly hides the eyes and picks up food and dirt. Because it was a puppy groom, the whole visit was kept gentle and slow, letting the pup settle at its own pace.

The groom

A warm bath with a puppy-safe, pH-balanced shampoo, a full blow-dry, and light scissor work to round out the face into a clean teddy-bear shape — plus a tidy of the body coat, nails and ears. Done at home on a familiar floor, so the experience stayed calm and positive from start to finish.
